Fly Away from it All

Sometimes, it’s one of those times when whisking away on a hot air balloon, or similar, becomes incredibly appealing by the day. Incredibly with a capital I.

A bit of an old faded look for this one. Someone needs to tell me where I can find filters that do all the wonderful effects that iPhone apps do at a touch of a button…I’m sure they exist just stuck in inertia. I’m currently so addicted to photo editing on various apps. Now, if the iPhone would come in a larger size….

There’s something about drawing with pencils that just makes it easier and less hesitant than a pen, or paint + brushes…. Maybe it’s knowing that you can erase anything that goes awry, and this makes the actual drawing of it more bold, and a better experience…Perhaps better is not the word. Different is.

The only thing is…. the faint lines, never quite come across as rich or strong as the other mediums.

Kind of in a mood to lose the crowd…but no one really gets it I suppose. Googled the urban hypothesis the other day and missed socio loads. and then psych…. and all those things that used to be interesting… Just submerged in sweet, sweet irony.

I hope Flickr doesn’t mangle the way this is going to be posted. Trying out how it works! *fingers crossed*

 

Some Songs Never Leave the Page

I’ve seen coupld of pictures of cats dancing on keyboards, but i suppose this is rather different in a way.

In some moments when I actually could steal time to think….Haven’t drawn anything much in a while and the silly HDD that synced away some old scans didn’t help. Just have to get those digitized and cleaned up again, I suppose! Woes of technology…

On a most random note, I had always thought that size 000 brushes were the maximum small one could go. Was pleasantly surprised to find out that there are now size 0/9 or even size 0/10 in the shops… and the feel of a new brush is oh so nice. Always loved brushes more than pens, though they are really hard to control when so minuscule…. But practice, practice, practice I suppose.

Maybe drawing is like cycling..something you never quite forget once you sort of get the hang of it.
